Tow Truck Round-Up for Bell County Areas

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation respects business owners’ time. For your convenience, there will be tow truck and tow company inspections held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Bell County and surrounding area.

For Tow Truck Inspections, please bring:
1. Tow Operator’s license
2. Drug tests (pre-employment, annual, random)
3. Cab Card
4. Proof of Liability Insurance


Equipment that will be inspected includes:
- Legible manufacturer’s data plate, or document from manufacturer, stating the capacity of boom, winch or carry mechanism.
- Winch in good condition (must not exceed capacity of boom or leak oil)
- Hydraulic lines free of leaks and in good condition
- Cables meeting manufacturer’s specifications and in good condition


TDLR’s field inspectors will also be available to perform tow company inspections on the same date at the same location. If you would like TDLR staff to also conduct an inspection of your tow company, please bring the following items to the inspection site:

- Proof of Insurance
- Drug Consent forms
- Company’s License
- Incident Management (IM) and Private Property (PP) Tow companies - Please bring copies of 20 tow tickets for the months of December 2011 and June 2012.

If you need a tow company or tow truck inspection AND are located in Bell County and surrounding area, please contact the inspector at the end of this announcement. If you need additional information, please contact one of the inspectors listed below Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., prior to September 5, 2012. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you on September 5. This Inspection will satisfy the Required Bi-annual Inspection. If your last inspection was done in December, 2010 or before, you can also participate in the round up inspection.

Travis Banner Viewing and Services

If you would like to be present for the memorial service of Travis Banner, please visit the Grimes Funeral Home on 1214 Mulberry, Bandera, TX 78003.
