DMV Alert

A few weeks ago, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles made an INADVERTENT change to the back of the VTR-265-VSF form (Storage Lien for Licensed Vehicle Storage Facility). The change eliminated the language allowing for using ELECTRONIC CERTIFIED MAIL. This was done in error. We have been working very hard to get this corrected.

Click Here for the new correct VTR-265-VSF form, along with a letter from the Texas DMV explaining the revised form.

As many of you know, we have had problems for years with some of the local tax offices accepting proof of electronic certified mail. Please print out this DMV letter and give it to your local tax office if you or your auction buyers have any problems with the tax office accepting proof of electronic certified mail.

As it states in the DMV letter, Texas Occupation Code 2303.151 specifically states that electronic certified mail is allowed.
